Giving Thanks

Well, I tried to sleep in a little:) I was tempted to stay in my Pajamas all day.

We had baked stuffed apples together this morning:)

Lefty and I went hiking:

Watched a bit of the Parade and some Twilight Zone!

Then we ate our fill at the Cousins’!

I did ok, but gave in with the whipped cream! I was good about grains and didn’t have a lot of sugar just a few bites of everything. Still feel very full.(Did I gain the weight back I just lost?!)

Tonight we watched the remake of Anne of Green Gables:)

I’ll close on what I started the day with:

Thanks to Gretchen for that quote!

Cinco de Whole30! Pilates too!

I have made it five days. Even I’m impressed with myself!;)

This am my husband had the idea of going on a family hike! Griffith is nearby, so he usually bikes it or I hike or jog it, and so, it was very refreshing for us!:

Once we made it home, I made a healthy breakfast of egg and kale. My coffee with the last of the Nutchello was especially delicious(see my Instagram for the froth video;))

I went to teach piano then came home and made a huge salad.  I spent time chewing and savoring each bite, tasting each flavor and crunchy bit!

Ok you guys it has been ONE WHOLE YEAR since I saw this Club Pilates open up near me (within walking distance!)…and (gulp sheepishly) I never made it a priority to change my schedule to actually make a demo class or try a real class! The other day I saw an email in my Inbox about their One Year anniversary party, teacher training info meeting, and a free demo class that just so happened to fit in my schedule today!!  I invited a few of my workout buddies but guess who actually committed and showed up. My blogger friend and workout bud Valerie!

General Manager Sara Pauley led us into an amazing 30minute session on the Reformer. Boy was it awesome!

Afterwards, they let us fill up our water bottles with the cool FloWater cooler! They had leftover snacks from their party and chatted with us, listening to our stories of becoming fitness enthusiasts!  These ladies (Rebecca and Jeanine who also work there and teach) were so warm and loving and kind to us!

Right now they are offering a huge deal on their membership. Get the first month for $99 if you sign up for three months!

Now, after my shower I really did feel like a New Woman!:) Long, lean and aligned!

We went on a date to Joe’s in Burbank to hear one of our favorite local artists, Barbara Morrison sing with her jazz quartet.  This was a fundraiser for Barry’s Kitchen who strives to serve nutritious meals to the homeless and unfortunate in the greater Pasadena area! Also, Barbara’s non profit, her Performing Arts center, is helping with the proceeds towards the California Jazz and Blues Museum too. Barbara is so sweet and fun, she caught me singing while we danced, and even invited me on stage to sing with her!! Such a surprise dream come true to sing “Just the Way You Look Tonight”!

We ended the night by making these delicious Paleo Stuffed Peppers!

Don’t forget to turn your clocks back and go out there and vote!

Making Memorial Day Memories

This morning it felt so good to sleep in. Then we had some cleaning and organizing around the house. My friend then met me at Deukmejian wilderness park for a nice uphill hike, (it was short, just over a mile, but boy was it hard!), complete with lovely views of our valley. We went to Magpie’s after for a salad lunch and went our separate ways. I stopped by La Canada memorial park where they had several booths, including the Humane society with cute pets to adopt, concessions, Cold pressed juice from Orchard Flats, snow cones and root beer floats. After a nice shower I returned to the park with my husband and we danced to the live band, Captain Cardiac and the Coronaries! There were a lot more people and picnics this time. It’s always fun to see the community (my workplace is part of it too) working together, and dancing outdoors brings families together and it’s a super fun way to #sweatpink!:)
This was a great ending to a long, busy, fun filled, tiring weekend! Saturday we drove up to central coast, went wine tasting and had tri tip with friends, yesterday we went to Manhattan beach, and a church picnic, so all in all it was a very full but fun 3 days!

My Sunday/Funday

Wow what a weekend! We had a great church service, breezed through a Pow Wow (we just walked through the Native American festival/fair before it), had a yummy brunch of chicken sausage, my cheesy spinach eggs, and krusteaz, and relaxed. We had some R’n’R just reading and I went to get some household cleaning staples at New Big Save(99cent store). Then we met our friends at Peets(I had to try the Dutch cocoa blueberry!) and went for a fun&beautiful hike in Eaton Canyon!! Their sweet lab came and we had fun. It was a little tricky because we first tried to find the main entrance with the lot, but we eventually found the main trail. Coming home, we had spaghetti, asparagus, garlic sourdough, then cocoa and Samoas and thin mints as we started the history channel’s “the Bible.” WHY DO THEY HAVE BRITISH ACCENTS?! I don’t get it! Doing laundry and finished the dishes with the DH helping me:) whew! I’m tired!
